Unit 1: Lesson 3 (Jan 13/16)

LEARNING INTENTIONS:

  • To understand the requirements for a good presentation
  • To practice discussion skills in a model Lit Circle.

CONNECT: Deserted Island

Book Nomination (formative presentation)

Formative task: Book nomination instructions. Due on Tues/Weds, 17th/18th Jan. Your presentation will be assessed using the Presentation rubric.

What makes a good/bad presentation?

Setting Group Norms:

Group norms are a set of rules or guidelines that a team establishes to shape the way its team members interact. As a group discuss the 'norms' that you would like to set for your Lit Circles and add them to the top of your group's google doc.

Things to consider:
  • language?
  • computer use?
  • someone gets off task/focus?
  • someone didn’t read?
  • someone didn’t do role?
  • someone is absent?
